Updates

Imunify360 is now the security stack on cPanel. Imunify360 replaces BitNinja on every shared and reseller server. Real-time malware scanning, the WAF, and proactive defense run automatically on your account — no action needed. What changes for you:
  • Quarantined files now appear in the Imunify360 panel inside cPanel, not the old BitNinja tile.
  • Brute-force and bot-block rules are tighter. If a legitimate visitor gets blocked, share the IP with support and we’ll allowlist it.
  • The cPanel sidebar tile is renamed and uses a new icon. The link is in the same place.
Backups are now JetBackup-only on cPanel. The cPanel local backup tool is no longer part of the supported workflow. JetBackup handles every backup and restore on shared and reseller plans, with off-server snapshots taken nightly. What changes for you:
  • Use JetBackup for full-account backups, single-file restores, and database rollbacks.
  • Existing local backups stored in your home directory still work, but new ones won’t be created from the cPanel Backup tile.
  • No action needed. JetBackup snapshots have been running in parallel and your account is already covered.

Removed

FTP and SFTP are retired on cPanel. Use Web Disk for drag-and-drop access from Finder, Explorer, or any WebDAV-compatible client, or the File Manager for browser-based uploads. What changes for you:
  • Existing FTP and SFTP credentials no longer connect.
  • Web Disk gives you the same mounted-folder workflow over HTTPS, with no separate password to manage.
  • For large uploads, Web Disk is the recommended path. Open a ticket if you need help migrating an automated workflow.
