# .si domains

> Slovenia's country-code TLD, run by ARNES. Open registration since 2009, with free transfers in.

`.si` is Slovenia's country-code TLD, operated by [ARNES](https://www.arnes.si/) (Academic and Research Network of Slovenia). Until 2009 only Slovenian residents and organisations could register; since then `.si` is open to anyone, anywhere.

## Registry policy

## Eligibility

Open since 2009. No residency or business requirement.

## Features

* **WHOIS privacy.** Available. The public WHOIS shows the registrant's name and email by default; opt-out for natural persons is supported.
* **DNSSEC.** Supported.
* **IDN.** Supported (Slovenian diacritics like `č`, `š`, `ž` accepted in punycode).
* **Auth (EPP) code.** Issued instantly from the [domain panel](/domains/management/panel).
* **Free transfer in.** No transfer fee, plus one extra year on the existing expiry.

## Things to know

ARNES enforces a minimum of two distinct nameservers per `.si` domain at the registry level. If you only set one NS, the registry will reject the change.
