# .pro domains

> Originally for licensed professionals, now an open generic TLD. Run by Identity Digital.

`.pro` originally required proof of professional accreditation (lawyers, accountants, doctors). Identity Digital lifted that restriction in 2015, and it's been open to anyone since.

## Registry policy
