# .hr domains

> Croatia's country-code TLD, run by CARNET. Restricted to Croatian residents, businesses, and trademark holders.

`.hr` is Croatia's country-code TLD, operated by [CARNET](https://www.carnet.hr/) (the Croatian Academic and Research Network) under DNS.hr. Registration is restricted, and the price reflects the manual checks the registry performs on every application.

## Registry policy

## Eligibility

`.hr` is restricted. The registrant must fall into one of:

* A **Croatian citizen** or **registered resident** of Croatia.
* A **legal entity** registered in Croatia (company, association, public body).
* The **holder of a Croatian trademark** matching the requested domain.
* An **EU citizen or business** under specific provisions; the domain must match a name registered with the relevant trade authority.

The registry asks for supporting documentation as part of the registration. Expect a manual review window of a few business days.

## Features

* **WHOIS privacy.** Limited. CARNET publishes registrant name and contact data by registry policy.
* **DNSSEC.** Supported.
* **IDN.** Supported (Croatian diacritics).
* **Auth (EPP) code.** Issued on request after registry verification.

## Things to know

`.hr` registrations are not instant. Unlike most ccTLDs, expect 1 to 3 business days while the registry checks the supporting documents. Renewals and transfers are quicker once the registrant is on file.
