# .co.uk domains

> The UK's most-used commercial domain space. Run by Nominet at the third level. Free transfer in.

`.co.uk` is the third-level UK commercial domain space and the most popular UK namespace by far. [Nominet](https://www.nominet.uk/) runs it under the same operational rules as `.uk`. Brand recognition in the UK still favours `.co.uk` over the shorter `.uk` for established businesses.

## Registry policy

* **Auth (EPP) code.** Nominet uses an "IPS Tag" model. We hand off the IPS tag of the gaining registrar on request.
* **Free transfer in.** No transfer fee.
